Order of the Crescent

The Order of the Crescent is a secret society across Notria of people devoted to the progression of good. Members of the Order act in secrecy. Members of the society are called Lunettes. This was started as an insult, but it was adopted as the word for members of the order. Lunettes typically act in small cells stationed in cities and regions across Notria. Most Lunettes have occupations beside from being a member of the Order. Many work as members of local constabularies, advisors to rulers, or as just regular members of society. Lunettes come from all different walks of life, aristocrats, soldiers, priests, craftsmen, beggars.

Structure

The Society does not have a hard structure, and cells can vary in size from a five people meeting a barn, to over 50 congregating in a lords manor. Most town have at least one cell of Lunettes, while major cities may have multiple depending on the size and political climate of the city.

Ranks

Initiate

The lowest member of the Order, they are given very little information, and little responsibility. The Initiate will usually be made a full member after they have proven their devotion. Initiates are either sponsored by a member of companion rank or higher, or attract the attention of a grand master.

Companion

The most common rank in the order. Companions will be called to go out and do the order’s bidding. They are often kept in the dark about the grand operations of the Order, but will be given some of the big picture.

Grandee

A Grandee is the highest rank that most members can ever hope of achieving. It is below grand master, but Grandees are given a lot more responsibility than Companions. They are often called to work with Grandmaster to figure out how to implement the Great Lights plans on local scales. Grandee’s are also allowed to recommend new initiates

Grand Master

Grand Masters administer cells. They act as the go between between the Great Lights to their cell members. They will implement strategy and plans given to them by the Great Lights. Grand Master approve all of the initiates, and decide when they are ready to become a Companion or a Grandee

The Great Lights

The highest ranking members of the Order of the Crescent, there are very few of them, and they meet Biennially. Great Lights chose new Grand Masters for cells whose Grand Masters have died or retired.

Public Agenda

The Order of the Crescent acts as a bastion against the forces of evil and tyranny. They believe that people deserve hope, and through hope evil can be defeated.
