In his early days he was healthy physically attractive young man, but after he retired he did gain weight and became obese, but that doesn't stop him from being swift and agile and mobile as he did many years ago.

Personal history
Born during the reign of King Muhamed III, descended from a tribe of farmers who are known famous for their high quality roses, who many nobles and kings and queens would seek. one month before his birth, his village was raided by a envious tribe who destroyed the village and killed many of his tribe, his father died protecting his mother and his family to escape from pursuers. he grew up in the capital city and became a street rat until he was caught by the royal guard of the sultan when he tried to steal a ruby decked medallion from the sultan during a parade. he would of had his hands cut off but the the general of the military had compassion and saw himself in the young boy and decided to take him in and gave him a good proper education in a military academy and became a father figure to Barnabas.
During the summer of the 95th year of the 13th era, Barnabas was commissioned as high captain to stand guard over the border of the great Egydian desert. the Pharaoh had sent a skirmish of soldiers to attack the fortress and there he fought off the entire skirmish by himself while his soldiers ran off. He was awarded the golden heart badge for his service and his bravery and he was honorably discharged, because of his major wounds he suffered.
on the 5th year of the 14th Era, when he was visiting the baazar he saw a young human baby who was abandoned and he stayed with her waiting for her parents to come and even went looking for her but after that day he decided to adopt her and named her Jamila which meant beautiful. he raise her as his own daughter and she grew up to be a fine young lady but on the 20th year of the 14th era she started to become sick and she could not get better and Barnabas spent all of his wealth, and sold his prized possessions to find a cure for her disease, not even the Life Mages could heal her and with money near gone, he decided to take a job for a crew of "Merchants" who were "selling" "Moon Jelly". he would soon discover that he was now working for pirates and they were smuggling narcotics to and from Palpagania and he was blackmailed to continue working for them or his daughter would be visited by some of the crewmates of the company and they would have not hesitated to finish what her disease was attempting to do.
One day he would soon hear rumors of an artifact that was long lost, and great treasures called the medallion of eternal life: a powerful artifact that could heal any disease, any wound, scar, disfiguration, regrow limbs, and even resurrect the dead.
there was great storm and Barnabas had gain the respect of his pirate crew mates and the captain too. during the storm the former captain of the crew had perished and he gave Barnabas the title of captain before he died and Barnabas over the years would begin to grow his crew and teach them military discipline that he was taught and grew up with, and would begin to educate his crew and they became loyal to him and him alone for all he had done for them and he would soon become infamously known as the king of pirates whose armada can fight even the strongest of navies. and now he seeks after the medallion of eternal life hoping that his daughter could be saved from her destined death.
