Akneni

This goddess is a spider who dwells in unknown places out of the sight of mankind. Her web is the web of destiny and each strand is a man's life. She must be approached with care, for if a spider devours even her lovers it is clear that mere mortal worshippers would be in even greater peril.
Akneni is the mistress of fate and knows all things past and future and is invoked for acts of divination.
To the Cheldrim Akneni is a minor figure, her name being blessed or cursed depending on how fate is treating the individual in question. She is called upon for acts of divination or occasionally appeased in advance if it looks like fate will be unpleasant.
To the Gatim she is more revered as the mistress of magic and the teacher of unknown secrets. Her priestesses (and they are almost exclusively female) enter into mystical communion with Akneni as they travel along the strands of her web and return with words and symbols of power.
