Heartmother

Luelliena il’Almanathi, referred to almost exclusively by her subjects amongst the Court of the Green as the Heartmother, was originally a Toshikigami Kami, a spirit of nature’s timelessness, though what exactly she is now is a matter of some debate. She resembles a human woman shaped of brown wooden branches, her hair a dangling mass of vines bearing an abundance of cherry blossoms. Her eyes are twin specks of gleaming emerald green amidst the brown folds of branches that make up her face, conveying a sense of patience and otherworldliness despite appearing to be mere points of light.   The Heartmother rules the Court of the Green in her husband’s stead; the Green Man has been forced to sequester himself below ground in the Green Man’s Heart in order to contain the corrupting influence of Devil's Fall. In his absence, she has unfortunately lacked the resources to put out the many minor fires that beset the forest on a regular basis, relying on her subordinates to maintain the Riverwild’s sanctity as much as they can.   Like any other Toshikigami, she possesses an inherent understanding of the passage of time, and can manipulate its effects on things within her magical influence, either reversing or accelerating the ravages of time. This allows her to keep the Temple of the Green, her home, a pristine and fecund realm, but she can also use her powers as Queen of the Green to grant short-lived temporal blessings to those who follow her, via the plants she tends within her garden.   One of the most important blessings she grants is that of timelessness to any member of the Green Court - even if they are not fully mortal, some fey do still age. With her power, while any creature serves her Court, the Heartmother ensures that they can serve fearing the creeping death of infirmity.
