Temple of the Eternal Flame
The Temple of the Eternal Flame, known as Barad Naurthon (*Tower of Fiery Wisdom*), is an ancient elvish sanctuary hidden deep within the Great Forest. Unlike its lush surroundings, the temple is an anomaly: a region where the air is unnaturally warm, and the trees seem to glow faintly at night with an ember-like radiance. The temple was once home to the Order of Purifiers (I Lain Calanor – "The Flame-Wise"), sorcerers tied to the power of flame who burned away corruption, cleared diseased forests, and fought against encroaching evils.
The order mysteriously vanished two centuries ago. Some believe they were betrayed, while others suggest they sacrificed themselves to stop a great calamity. Now, the temple lies abandoned, its once-grand halls overgrown with creeping vines and ash-covered ruins.
Current State of the Temple
Location: Deep in the Great Forest, the temple sits in a clearing where the trees seem to bow away from a central spire. Strange, fiery sigils flicker faintly on the surrounding trees at night, marking the ancient wards that once sealed the area.
Structure: The temple is a blend of elvish grace and fiery power. Blackened stone walls and molten-red mosaics depict stories of the Purifiers’ deeds. The central chamber houses the Pyrelantern.
