Hanna Shineapple

Hanna Shineapple is the Royal Cartographer of the West, a bright and adventurous halfling dedicated to mapping the lands beyond the frontier. She is currently based at Fort Stormarrow, where she consolidates maps, integrates data from explorers, and assists with the growing administrative needs of the fort.

"I don’t need a bodyguard! …Okay, maybe I do. Just one. A very competent one."

She is known for her warm and friendly nature, her optimistic outlook, and an enthusiastic drive to uncover the lost geography of the western former elvish kingdoms. Despite her courage, she remains a little nervous around the big folk, especially after her last ill-fated expedition into the wilds.

Early Life and Ambition

Born into a comfortable halfling family, Hanna developed a fascination with maps and travel at a young age. While most of her kin were content with cozy hearths and rolling hills, she felt the call of distant places. She apprenticed under local mapmakers before setting out to make a name for herself, determined to chart the unknown lands of the west.
Her talent was quickly recognized, and when she presented her first major survey of the western frontier, the king awarded her the title of Royal Cartographer of the West, granting her a stipend and full access to the archives. The honor was unexpected, but she embraced it wholeheartedly.

The Failed Expedition and Rescue

Eager to push deeper into uncharted lands, Hanna hired a guide and bodyguard and set out westward beyond the known frontier. The journey turned into a nightmare when her bodyguard was horrifically slain, leaving her alone and defenseless in the wild.

"Mapping is about patience. And careful observation. And… okay, sometimes it’s about running for your life."

Had the party not found her in time, she might have met the same fate. She remains deeply grateful to her rescuers, though the experience left her more cautious in venturing out alone. One member of the party, Ouro, took special care in protecting her, even gifting her a magical ring for protection.
She completely misunderstood the gesture.
When he handed her the ring, she assumed it was a proposal. Flustered, flattered, and utterly confused, she never once considered a human—let alone a powerful wizard—as a potential suitor. She wasn’t even sure how she felt about the idea, but when she realized it was just a gift of protection, she was, against all reason, a little crushed.

"I was just startled, that’s all! You can’t just hand a halfling a ring and expect her not to panic!"

To this day, she avoids bringing it up, hoping no one noticed just how embarrassed she truly was.

Life at Fort Stormarrow

Now settled in Fort Stormarrow, Hanna has thrown herself into her work. She focuses on:

Consolidating existing maps and cross-referencing older records from the archives.

Integrating Jinwing’s maps and data from other explorers.

Helping with the fort’s administration and resource management, utilizing her sharp intellect and organizational skills.

Though she still dreams of venturing into the deep wilds again, she is taking her time, ensuring she is better prepared for the dangers ahead.

Family and Personal Life

Hanna’s overprotective brother, Erik Shineapple, is never far behind. He leads a small gang of two other members, and they keep a close eye on her, often interfering in ways she finds endearing but infuriating. She appreciates their concern but insists she can take care of herself—most of the time.
She is fiercely intelligent and talented, but inexperienced in matters of romance and politics. Her brief misunderstanding with Ouro left her more self-conscious, though she does her best to brush it off.
