Zohacheru (ZO-hah-chay-roo)

The Zohacheru are a distant cousin of Homo sapiens, but come from a separate timeline and universal dimension. They are the result of an evolutionary splitting within early modern humans. The Zohacheru are larger and more physically powerful than modern man as well as more capable of sustaining life in harsh environmental conditions. They are more resistant to temperature swings, mostly to the high range. Their skin is tougher, making it more resilient to the very rocky and volcanic conditions that their timeline's Earth experienced. In their world, modern man were forced to retreat into the near polar regions of the Earth due to extreme climate change brought on by high levels of volcanic activity near certain tectonic regions. 
Intellectually, the Zohacheru surpassed their cousins within their world, but they are still considered inferior to Earth That Is humans. This is less from raw intellectual capacity and more because their world did not acheive the scientific, philosophical, artistic, and engineering feats that Earth That Was did.
Two groups of Zohacheru have entered Earth That Is in the last 70 years. The first came through the St. Louis Archway Gate  during one of its active times. Initially, a few Zohacheru gatherers came through the gate on accident, taking shelter in a cave formation where the gate manifested during a volcanic storm. Once they discovered the relative lushness that was ruined St. Louis, they returned back through the still open gate and brought their clan through. This first migration numbered some 200 members. This number was soon culled down to some 40-60 survivors after contact with some Spartan groups. The survivors spread south along the Mississippi River and soon established a small but sustainable homestead. Several generations have passed from this initial group and most Zohecheru that only know Earth That Is come from this initial stock. 
The second group entered Earth That Is via a transitory one-way gate that opened near where Milwaukee, WI was some 8 years ago. This group was a nomadic hunting and raiding group, complete with a small number of women and young children. They have had little contact with other Demon races or human settlements in the area and are still very much tied to their native Zohecheru culture.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Zohecheru, being cousins to mankind, have a similar body shape and form. Comparing one to the other, however, shows a number of stark differences. The Zohecheru, regardless of sex, will be significantly taller, broader, and more muscled than their human counterpart. The Zohecheru are for the most part hairless. Their skin tones are generally darker, ranging from deeper olive tones at the lightest to dark brown. Their eyes are heavily lidded and their brow extends out slightly over the eye to shade them.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Zohecheru are omnivorous like humans. Their teeth, however, have evolved to be more specialized with the mouth split between sharply pointed ripping and tearing teeth in the front and flat grinding and crushing molars in the back.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Zohecheru have similar senses as humans. Those that were born in their original timeline are more adapted to seeing bright, glaring environments though this is less the case for those generations born in Earth That Is.

Zohecheru personal fashion often involves the use of geometrical or linear tattoos/markings as well as the use of embedded or pierced jewelry made of rocks, metal, or other inorganic material. A certain subset of younger Zohecheru that have only known Earth That Is will use bits and pieces of Earth That Was artifacts to make these
