Dunelöw Rifle

A big-bore rifle made by Dunelöw & Sons out of the Pennsylvania Territories, the Dunelöw was designed to be used by commercial crews, travelers, hunters, and others that may encounter dangerous fauna in the wilds of the Midwest. It uses a drop lever that doubles as a trigger guard to open the breech. The rifle uses paper hulled cartridges containing the large powder charge and conical lead bullet with the end of the breech block acting as a cutter for the rear end of the cartridge. Once loaded, the Dunelöw is hard to unload because of this, with the powder being wasted. Each Dunelöw comes with a short ramrod within the gunstock specifically for pushing the cartridge out the muzzle if it needs to be unloaded. Most users, however, just fire the current round instead of bothering with the reload.    Due to the nature of the cartridge, Dunelöw ammunition is very susceptible to water and moisture. Submerging a round for anything more than a second or so will render it completely unfireable. Exposing them to high humidity or rain drops the Malfunction rating to 12. The Dunelöw round is designed to be effective against higher density hides and minor armor plating that can be found on Earth That Is fauna. This is reflected in the armor divisor for the round.
