Crones

Basic Information

Anatomy

Crones are roughly 5ft tall mammals that are part robotic. They have two arms and legs with a mouth central of their body and two stalk eyes on top, with flappy ears hanging of the side of their body. As they lack a neck they do not technically have a head, their body is just one continuous form.

Genetics and Reproduction

The reproduction cycle of the Crones are not too dissimilar to that of emperor penguins of Earth. After mating, an egg will be laid by the female Crone that has a four month incubation period. After hatching the baby crone is kept safe in the robotic suit of the father, carried with them wherever they go.

Growth Rate & Stages

At the age of five a crone is no longer considered a baby, and is expected to begin construction on their own robotic suit. Their robotic half is actually a rite of passage and their form of ‘coming of age’, the robotic parts are made by them throughout their life and the suit is molded into them on their 15th birthday by their immediate family. If no immediate family remains or if they refuse to give them their suit, the Crone is exiled from the clan. This tradition has been going on for three centuries, the suit has obviously advanced since then, but the ideal of the suit has always existed.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They live on a piscitarian diet mainly consisting of cron but also the occasional awri.
