Days of Luminance

This four day holiday celebrates and honours Millianna, goddess of the Sun and light across Beru.

History

This fesitval's origin begins in the Mirage Alliance where Millianna's prescence is greatest. 
Initially the festival started smaller when Millianna was more regional but after Owenthal vanished from the pantheon it began to grow rapidly and spread across the continent. 
After the founding of the Phirean Dynasty the festival became somewhat political as those who lived within the Dynasty deemed the festival heretical, demanding that Millianna's followers be banished and the festival never celebrated.

Execution

People honour Millianna by burning sacred oils through the night to ward off the darkness, keeping her flame lit to guard their homes. This small ritual can be performed by anyone who seeks to respect Millianna but can also be performed in temples dedicated to the goddess. 
During the second day and night of the festival grand feasts are held in plazas and temples where spring animals are prepared for the masses, typically animals born the previous spring that have been reared for this purpose. The meat is burned over a fire of sunflowers and Sun Fruit that represent Millianna and her link to the natural world that bathes in her light.
