The House of Comfort
When one enters the House of Comfort, they arrive in a lavish wood foyer, trimmed in mahogany and flanked by elegant statues and beautiful plants. Ahead, they will see to parallel staircases, curved around a semi-circular wall that is adorned by a carving depicting a woodland scene and two people who sit side-by-side, hands held tight together.
Purpose / Function
This place is the home of Bydarite, Goddess of love and pleasure. Here, she has filled the massive mansion with a number of rooms serving various purposes. This includes dining halls, bedrooms, lounges, and variations and combinations therein. This location is also home to her personal chambers.
Design
The room-count changes every-so-often, making an accurate size difficult. The foyer and Bydarite's room are the only two places known to have not changed in size, though their decoration has been altered throughout history. The foyer is 50-by-70 feet, and Bydarite's room is roughly 30-by-50 feet.
Entries
The front door is purely decorative, as the location can only be accessed by divine invitation from Bydarite herself.
Sensory & Appearance
The halls and foyer smell faintly of the favorite flower of whomever is asked, and the rooms themselves have different aromas dependent on their purpose. Bydarite's room often smells of lavender or lover's orchids. It is a comfortably warm place, lit by mage lights contained in glass housings. Each room has lighting suited to it, much like the smell. Bydarite's room is always dark, with a wooden floor covered in rugs and a large bed draped in red fabric.
Denizens
Bydarite is usually present here, and often accompanied by other unearthly beings; aasimar, nymphs, fey, and powerful clerics or pladins in her service.
Contents & Furnishings
Most of the furniture is oak or mahogany, cushioned by red, white, or patterned fabrics. Every table holds something of beauty, sculpture or otherwise, and many books are held here; most of which are romantic or sexual.
Special Properties
The air here is calming, making it extremely difficult to become angry or enraged. It also heightens one's awareness of other's emotions and experiences, should they choose to allow it.
Architecture
Beautiful and eye catching, the building combines woods of many kinds, stone, and glass to create an interior akin to the most luxurious vintage mansions. It is neither gaudy nor flashy, rather tastefully designed with a simple-yet-elegant appearance. Much of its' beuaty belongs to the fabric, layout, general atmosphere, and unearthly craftsmanship.
