The Glimmering Spear
A towering keep shoots into the horizon, coming into view among the bright rays of a noon sun. The plain stonework glints and sends light dancing across her eyes. She shields her face with the brim of her traveling hood, watching the stone path as she approaches. A few others mingle about the door, two engraved slabs set firm in an archway. She pushes them open, ignoring the chatter around her. She quietly makes her way to the back of the room, boarding the magelift. The sack on her back feels increasingly heavy.
She steps out of the lift, walking down a corridor to a door marked "Dissection." She pushes it open, walking in to the brightly lit room. She slips her bag off and onto a table as a gentleman approaches her.
"Dessa, what have you for me today?" He asks.
She loosens the straps of her bag, drawing out the severed head of a young dragon.
"My, my!" He exclaims, "From me, on behalf of the Glimmering Spear, I thank you for your contribution to our research."
She smiles.

History
Formed as an exclusive club of powerful persons with the intent of sharing research and finances in private, the GS maintained covert status for little more than 7 years, where after it was agreed the organisation should become a public research alliance and open itself to the world. Following, it began accepting new members and backers, then recruiting employees and Spears.
