Leylines

Leylines (singular: leyline) form a network of "rivers" of Aether through the world of Ber, originating in Nirankar Akal. A location where multiple Leylines meet is called a "Leyline Nexus", and a location where a Leyline of significant size is close to the surface is called an "Aether Well". The most famous example of an Aether Well can be found in Ishtahear, where it is used to sustain the magical effects of a whole city.
