Raea

“Raea—” His voice boomed across the ruins, Corrigan having no care or trouble to make sure the entirety of the company could hear him. “—beloved daughter of Elver, the unicorn in the pyramisic tapestry! Loved by all the creatures of her father’s domain!”
Raea is a minor goddess in the Pantheon. She is the daughter of Elver, but she is said to have been corrupted, or tainted, by Axen.

She originally took the form of a beautiful horse, but when Axen claimed her he, either as a joke or to use her for war (there are two versions of the myth—the war one is how the orvon tell the story), she grew a single, sharp horn out of her forehead. She fights for Axen in his war to liberate the orvon lands from the eldermen, and in the Doctrine she is forced to stay with Axen afterward until Beatrix changes her back to a woman and she is able to escape—in the orvon version, Axen lets her go and changes her back himself as her reward for helping him in the war. In both stories, she then bears the mark of the horn on her forehead as a woman, a small, silver diamond. She returns to her father, Elver, who has just lost his wife. Due to both his blinding grief and loneliness, and Raea's mark, he doesn't recognize her. However, he is astounded by her beauty and, as she tells him she's been sent to him by Beatrix, believes her to be an offering of a new lover from the major goddess, and takes Raea to his bed. After, she is changed back into a horse, and then is killed by Elver.
