Challengers Statue
20 foot tall quartet of statues, showing the Challengers, each with one hand in, making their shared vow to improve the world and act for the aid of life. Made of Atilanic Steel, one of four willow’s waving greatest creations, it was voted into construction after the groups disbandment by the citizens of the town. It’s a common sight to see people, locals and visitors, young and old, climbing the base to place their hand on top of the other four, just to say they’ve done it.
Purpose / Function
To memorialize four of the greatest heroes of the last two centuries, and draw visitors to the town, so as to help compete with the nearby, much larger, Love’s Labour.
Alterations
For a period, the swords attached to Jin’Strümer’s back were set up with a gas feed, first using a gas elemental, then a pneumatic system, to be set ablaze. However, it was soon Decided that this discouraged visitors from climbing to reenact the famous vow and so the feature was publicly removed. Occasionally, reactionary groups have vandalized the statue, especially willow’s ears and Jin’s tusks, to try and remove the diversity of the group from history.
Architecture
To re-enforce the lessons of common unity and diversity that the challengers worked for for so long and so ardently, the statue was designed by a group of Dwarves, humans, Orks, Akila and Elves, even getting input from Dünvïnväng on what Jin’strumer looked like, as the only resident of challenge to be able to clearly remember the hero. As such, it’s design is unique in all baurellia
History
After Denyamin and Aandistrum announced the formal disbandment of the group, the city of challenge’s (then atlus) provisional government held a simple show of hands on whether the statue should be built, despite the remaining ex-members protests.
