Robinson - Federated Suns
Robinson III is the only habitable planet in the system. The capitol is Bueller, and the political leader is Council Leader Hurigu Deviin, while the noble ruler is the Duke of Robinson. The planet has three continents; Canaan on which is the capitol Bueller, the industrial city Tiberius which is home to the Robinson Battle Academy, Robinson Standard Battleworks Industrialplex, and Valiant Systems, and the small town of Purki, small town 500 km from Bueller that was secretly the entrance to a hidden ComStar-controlled "Brian Cache" and an HPG-A station. Robinson III has a population of 5,675,350,000.
The planet has several orbital stations first, among them the Sharon habitat with 11,000 souls aboard, and recharge stations at both the zenith and nadir jump points.
The planet was first settled by colonists from the First Terran Exodus, who were attracted by its rich black soil and pleasant living conditions. The majority of the land's early settlers were farmers who soon discovered the world was rich in mineral and oil deposits. However, off planet corporations seeking to exploit the mineral wealth soon arrived and came into conflict with the farmers, who had already claimed the majority of the planet's available land. The resulting political crisis fueled by conflicts with major mining concerns in the Terran Hegemony led to the collapse of the planetary government. The Robinson planetary militia commander, David Sandoval, stepped forward and took control of the failed government. Declaring himself "Lord Protector", he seized the foreign companies' assets and lands to stabilize the situation. He forged a land-reform bill which shifted control of all land transactions to his new government. This resulted in the Sandoval family becoming incredibly rich. Though new policies eventually came into place to weaken this arrangement, the Sandoval family would eventually become the planet's ruling nobility.
With the founding of the Federated Suns, Robinson became one of the five seats of power under House Davion. Robinson became the capital world of the Terran March, one of five Marches within the Federated Suns; the Princes of the Terran March were members of the Leighton family until Prince Charles Leighton and his family were killed in 2515[65] in a raid by the Hegemony Armed Forces. As a result of political maneuverings within the Council of Regents General Nikolai Rostov, one of the Federated Suns' most celebrated military leaders and serving member of the Council of Regents, was named Prince of the Terran March.
Nikolai Rostov would continue to serve as Prince and then later as First Marshal while Robinson and the Terran March saw invasions from first the Terran Hegemony and then the Draconis Combine between his election in 2515 and the outbreak of civil war in 2524. Nikolai Rostov led the forces of the Terran March in conjunction with the Draconis March forces led by Laura Davion on an assault into the Capellan March in an attempt to remove Cassandra Davion and David Varnay from power, sparking the civil war. When Nikolai Rostov was killed in battle on Quitticas, his son Dmitri became Prince of the Terran March.
Dmitri led the Terran March forces in support of First Prince Alexander Davion initially,[69] fighting against the Varnay forces in the Capellan March and then Laura Davion's forces in the Draconis March.[70] With the defeat of the Varnays and Laura Davion, Alexander Davion began to restructure the political layout of the Federated Suns; Dmitri Rostov openly opposed Alexander's reforms, culminating in Dmitri leading the military forces of the Terran March against Alexander in battle and a botched attempt to kidnap Cynthia Davion that saw Alexander's wife killed. The net result was a massive military response from Alexander which ended with a battle on Robinson in November 2540 in which Alexander killed Dmitri. The Terran March was abolished soon after when Alexander reorganized the Federated Suns into just three Marches and Robinson became the capital of the new Draconis March.
Robinson was invaded during the first half of the major invasion into the Federated Suns launched by the Draconis Combine in May 2787.[16] Robinson was liberated by the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns in 2814 as part of the third and final major AFFS counteroffensive of the First Succession War against the Draconis Combine.
During the Secons Succession War in 2854, the Suns lost Robinson again to Mayogi Kurita. On 10 June the Coordinator led four Sword of Light regiments and ten support regiments against three defending regiments on the planet. The invasion was early decided because the DCMS had attacked Kentares IV simultaneously, pinning down reserve units otherwise available as reinforcements. Employing nuclear, chemical, and biological attacks this assault became known as the "Rape of Robinson." The AFFS retreated off-world in August 2858 and swore to come back. A counteroffensive later in the year failed to reclaim the world for the Suns, though Cassandra Davion would see action for the first time in that attack while serving as a combat medic. Another assault in 2860 likewise failed.
Early in the Third Succession War, Operation PENDRAGON would reclaim Robinson for the Federated Suns.[76] In late 2891, Marshal Joseph Davion II led the elite Second Avalon Hussar RCT in a bold invasion of Robinson. While the Third Sword of Light saw the arriving Davion DropShips well in advance, they were not prepared for Joseph's highly risky plan to drop his forces directly into the DCMS troops' midst, expecting a more conventional choice of drop zones. Though initially falling back, the elite Third Sword quickly mounted a counterattack which blunted the Second Avalon's advance, fighting toe-to-toe among the buildings of Robinson's capital city. The fighting would drag on for an entire month; though the Third excelled in small unit actions, coordination between the component parts of the Second's RCT allowed them to win in larger scale operations, with the Combine defense beginning to falter as Taragi ramped up his efforts and ensuring that the DCMS troops on-world received no supplies for an entire month. While fighting with all their skill, eventually the lack of supplies forced the imperiled Third Sword of Light to retreat off-planet to avoid destruction, conceding control of the world to the Federated Suns.
On 2 April 3039 Leftenant Adrian Robertson placed a briefcase containing detailed plans for the 16 April invasion of the Draconis Combine which was then stolen in what was intended as a mundane vehicle theft. The AFFS was understandably concerned and a planetwide search for suspected ISF agents was launched. Almost 24 hours after the initial theft, an anonymously phone call was placed to the Robinson City Police Department that the car was located in the city center. The briefcase had been forced opened, but all contents were there and the thief included a note stating only "I may be a thief, but I am a patriot too. I return this to you, together with my assurance that I have not copied or passed on the information it contains." Dubbed the Patriotic Thief by the press after the War, they were never identified, and their identity as Teagen Reeves was known only to her accomplice Lee. By the end of the Succession Wars Robinson was the center of Judaism within the Federated Suns.
