In the Underdark on the way back from House Karlaith the Freelancers encounter an odd illusion of seven polished triangle stones pointing to a wall. Peni felt compelled to touch the runic symbols and offered the glowing orb retrieved from the Night Mother's chambers. He vanishes into another space and hears the voice of the same figure that said to find the staff - and is temporarily relieved of his magical gifts.
