Notes of interrogation of Xun while under the influence of Dhaer's Zone of Truth.

What detail have you left out? The Ascendent and the Shadows are the same. The Ascendent used to be separate; The Shadows use the Ascendent for their own goals. And that Xun has met the Shadow Captain.
What does the Shadow Captain look like? She was hooded, fairly live features, slim and imposing. Maybe elf. Hard to tell. She's scary. Not one to be trifled with, nor her pet the warforged. Never been so scared of something that doesn't have a face. Echo she called it.

Would you want to save your sister? Yes.
Would you help save her? Yes. The Shadows would kill me; I know too much about their inner workings.
Do you know more? No. Shadow Council is not far wrong of a name for them; the organisation that makes decision for the First Council because they are too weak to, including population control. Unsure on if they were involved in the Uprising as it was before his time.
Are they linked to Toloy? Yes, the Ascendent are a tool of the Shadows. The Ascendent and Toloy are the same. Aether was used to cull the population as its a humane way to do it without killing the population in the streets because they can't afford to feed it. They don't let the gnomish encampment in as they can't afford to feed them. They look after their own: dwarf, elf, human.
The Shadows are pulling the strings, with the First Council as their face. The Captain is the puppeteer.
Do they have plans against Haven? No; they know there is a very powerful being that runs it, but they do not know who the being is. Xun could arrange a meeting in Bastion; they know how to contact the Shadows. It would be strange but they wouldn't say no. Follow Betrayer's Way in Shepherd's Rest; Wall of the city at teh end. Bottom right of the wall there is a missing stone, about palm sized. The stone above that stone is hollow at the back.
