Skirmisher Report: Western Expeditions
Colussus
Last encountered 39th Proviso. Sound is dampened in the Cracked Flats; dust clouds appear to be kicked up by Colussus' movement. Creature passed overhead while we sheltered in a gully of the Flats - flesh in foot appears to be writhing and undulating, reknitting itself? Unclear what it is or what it is created from.Fiends
Encountered same large devil multiple times, believe same as Stormwalkers encountered in Dead City. All encounters with devil are marked on the map (including Stormwalkers in Dead City). Devil appears to be in control of multiple soldiers, including a large fiend that had exploding infernal rocks inside after its death; when felling fiends, recommend getting out of range (40 foot minimum) of explosion.Bone Devil: fast flying devil, bone-like carapace, long tail with poisonous stinger. Appeared unaffected by fire damage.
Maw Demon: smaller, mostly teeth, vomits acid. Easier to hit.
Ruins
Ruins of an old settlement in Dead Marsh are reasonable resting place, but also have encountered fiends near there.Cave Cracked Flats
Underground cave in gully of Cracked Flats. Multiple traps. Interior seemed to be subterranean circular tower with no clear stairs or access. No apparent items of value for effort of getting there and back. May be similar structures in gullies; take care for traps (magical and physical).Petrified Forest
No clear pathways. Forest riddled with Fade Spiders (that have the ability to go invisible and magically shift across distance quickly), and Basilisks with ability to petrify creatures and turn them to stone like the trees themselves. Basilisk stomach acid can be used to reverse the effects if applied quickly enough.Combat Medic Notes
On a separate page, Robyn has transcribed learnings from the aarakocra on combat medic skills as a sort of manual. Sources are deliberately not cited, and no other explanation is offered, simply instructions only.
This pack of notes and map sketch contain a 'sanitised' version of encounters West of Bastion into the Petrified Forest, but no further. Descriptions of creatures also include rough sketches, sizes and annotations, particularly of the bone devil and larger fiends. The report and map are not dated or signed, but its likely Skirmishers who are personally familiar with Robyn's handwriting and style would recognise it as hers.
