Dhaer

Passage between the Wasteland and Otho’s Haven is facilitated by an individual known as Dhaer. This cloaked and masked humanoid doesn’t live in Bastion, but guides Otho’s agents through a network of tunnels deep underground. The complexity of the network that he leads the diplomats along is immense, and without his guidance they would surely be lost. The journey takes somewhere along two days from an innocuous entrance on the surface miles away from Bastion to a small portal that leads into Otho’s Haven. The entire trip is made in complete darkness, with frequent spells of silence at Dhaer’s command. He refuses to elaborate on why the need for silence, only that “There are far worse things below the ground than above it”. The only person Dhaer seems to talk to warmly is Otho, any personal questions from anyone else are rebutted coldly. A Drow formerly of House Karlaith, Dhaer left after he showed to have been granted magical gifts of Vekata, power that is only supposed to be granted Female Drow, and should a Male display those powers, they are immediately killed.
