As you enter the room, the smell of old wood and alcohol fill your nose. Rows and rows of barrels go back into the darkness. You hear a clank clink clank echo down one of the sections. A short metal figure holding a broken bottle appears in front of you. Upon closer inspection, you see that it's face has two eyes, but no mouth. There is a small light that turns on and off where it's nose should be. It hands you the broken bottle, and then turns around to return to where it came from.

Investigate the barrels?

Giving it a bit more time to count, you see that there are only 10 rows of barrels, stacked 4 high, with 8 in each row. The darkness in the room gives the illusion that there are many more barrels than there are.

Investigation Check

DC15
The rows of these seem to go on forever. As you look closer to the wood is soaked through. You push a glass up to it, and you it slowly fills with rum. If you taste it, you discover it is some of the best tasting rum you have ever tried.
DC 20
Upon closer inspection, you see that this wood is fully saturated mahogany. If you were to extract liquid from this, you could sell it to a tavern for quite a bit of gold. These barrels were sealed in this room and preserved perfectly for many years. Now that the door has been opened, the seal is broken and the clock has started on this rum. They will last about a month in the barrels before they spoil entirely. If they are bottled, they will be shelf stable and ready for sale.

Find the Little Metal Person

It doesn't take long to find the little metal person walking through the rows of barrels. It turns to acknowledge you. It bows. It's nose flashes red for a second and then turns back to it's work. It seems to be rotating each of the barrels 15 degrees clockwise one by one. It even has a little ladder to reach the higher levels. As it climbs up the ladder, you letters on it's foot.

Perception Check

DC 20
You look closer at it's foot as it ascends the ladder. You see the name RANDY printed on it. There is no dust on it, nor is there any sort of dust anywhere. It seems to be keeping this place as nice as it could. Who knows how long it has been down here? If you use the name Randy to acknowledge the metal person while trying to hire it, you can roll with advantage.
Try to hire the metal person

Only one player may successfully hire the metal person. You may not attempt to hire him if the check box bellow has been checked. Once the metal person is hired, Tell the DM so he can check the box below. (Honor System on if you pass or fail)

THE METAL PERSON HAS BEEN HIRED

Persuasion Check

Pass DC 25
The Little Metal Person acknowledges you. It's nose turns Green and it follows you out of the dungeon back to your bastion. You may add "Randy" to your list of hirelings. Randy is a small warforged only able to communicate Green, Red or Off based on Randy's nose. A voice modification can be built in a Workshop to give Randy a proper voice. Tell the DM that you have claimed him so that the check box can be clicked off.
Fail DC 25
The Little Metal Person's nose turns Red. He hands you a corkscrew and turns back to his work. You may not attempt to hire The Little Metal Person until after the next in person setting, if he is still available.
