Vergis

The ambition of Duke Crystalveil of Serevan Duchy has gained him a reputation of cruelty and sadism that makes him stand high above most other Haberonians in that regard. He craves greater favor with the queen, but so long as he holds such venom for the Scatterbell family, second favored family of the realm, his chances at advancement are bleak, at best.   This fact makes for a harsher than normal existence for the inhabitants of his duchy, and particularly Vergis, the city in which he resides when he chooses to leave his opulent estate in the countryside. The laws are stricter, and the penalties more severe than that found anywhere in Haberon outside of Oxferi, where the queen herself resides.   -Wynth Onyxorb, bard of the Singing History Guild
