Session 98: Scallywags: Plans and Complications
General Summary
The group decides on loot from the fallen members of the King's Chosen and Beart of the Devil's Gambit. Feanger gains a gladius, Steadfast a ring, and Throngar a gun.
George joins Vuulmesh, a black dragon born astride a crystalline tricertops, and apparently Roland's father figure, one who raised him, showed him on these streets and meets within the Regent's Isles really work--those dark underbellies. George introduces the dragonbron to each person and their titles. While this happens, Mila trails over to Roland--what and why is this happening? Who are these people? What have you started, Roland? There is a powerplay that has started, and Roland must decide how far he must push this narrative, to gain control of the Devil's Gambit. The feeling, Aikhon wonders, must have taken over Roland to enact such a strong vision. Nevertheless, Aikhon and the others will prepare for those actions, but they just would like to know more abotu why.
Vuulmeshs sees this now truly, the action against the king will be made. The true King, and perhaps, Roland and his crew will succeed.
Mila goes to Francine and makes sure the woman goes home, and waits for Mila. Mila also imbues the call with a Haste Spell and a Invisibility too.
Pojin leaves the crew, to visit an old friend.
Auna and Brimstone talk, and after Aikhon and the Captain confer about the above. Ollie comes over and claims she wants to join the next combat, to not miss out on what happens next.
They begin to return to the crew, and they lay plans for how they will proceed to the Regent Tower, and deal with new allies in the Regent, and enemies in the Devil's Gambit. Maybe even the King himself will show.
They know they want the Regent on their side, so they must play a slow game of politics, even if fate may not allow them in these few days left. There are still so many actions of the king they are unaware of, but not of their own choice.
Feanger is hoping to gain a place of his own from these actions, a place for the dragonborn and people to have of their own.
Sasha, Roland, and Mila travel with the Redwing, and Lady Sasha stops at a few towns a villages along the way, where she purchases a few potions to aid in the adventures. Roland takes advantage of Lady Sasha's Courtier life and writing techniques, and they craft 50 copies of a letter. They are about Lord Somer's demise, and there is an invitation to the Devil's Pit, no the Mansion of Somer, where they will give in to the aims he has. The 16th of the 16th Month, the year 698. He arranges for Luulmesh, his father, to stay with Valentha and Vumpesh, who will be staying further away from Regent Tower proper. Mila even aids with wax, so Roland can use the ring he procured from Master Somer as a wax seal, a sure degree of proof for most who are questioning.
Ilknar spends time with Pemi, and aboard the ship with the crew, where his perception and Orcish improves. With Pemi, he shares the story, and he sees pemi is writing a ballad, a chanting song, of his love and his story as Ilknar, the new Storm King.
Nethpione comes to find Ilknar, and she leans in to his arms, them both facing the front and the ocean. In the Infernal Tongue, she shares a vision of what she thought was Ilknar, but really must be King Boveen. But he is mutated, and he is carrying something, holding something in his arms with care. Nethpione knows this is the goal they must go after. This is how they stop him.
She wishes to join Ilknar, to be their for these next steps, and Ilknar would not have it any other way.
Horizon spends some time on the next sunrise with Aikhon. She must choose war, to be with him, to show that the risk of her legacy still existing today is why she must fight, to prove its worth. They join hands, and bask in the sun light further, these dragonkin, as the Aikhon helps the radiance brighten.
