Session 92: A Symbiotic to Pilot Relationship: Animaesus and Tarrasques

General Summary

Birdman and Amu, and then in a roundabouts way as well, Tenebris make their way to the Central Keep of the beast. They soon find many others--Killian and his father from the Lupin and first House, Cholioptids from the 3rd House, and Moustelin of the 6th House--and they are engaged with monstrosities, something akin to an insectoid, but much larger than any Animaesus. There are a dozen or so of them, coming from holes in the ground, opened up crevices and ravines. The movement of the Tarrasque isn't slight, no, it is always monumentous.

For some reason Snoopius Dogeus comes to bless the battlefield as the group makes their way to the back right leg, and hip, area. Here, Mel is engaged with an insensate Lynxin. Cheobo, she seeks Mel's end, but she is unable to achieve this aim, for one, Sime, Mel's monkey, vampiric thrall aids her, and soon Amu and Tenebris do as well. The Lynxin inevitably falls. Birdman, however, sees the leader of the 6th House Dourdein, and he tries to assist him, to cover him, while he does, hopefully, release his seal. The goal, the hope, is the make the tarrasque rise, yes, but to also make it leave as soon as possible, so its rampage, hopefully, will be as swift as possible. Hopefully, Birdman, as the shadow of the beast can achieve this. They are able to stop the monk, and they leave her body as it is, with no real time as Duordein releases the Sixth Seal, for Hybearn has released his own, the 1st Seal, and in the same process he must have finally sacrificed the Xantha, for the 9th Seal also faulters. They must rush Mel to release the 12th Seal. And, hopefully, escape, run far enough away, that they will not be barrages, stomped upon by the Tarrasue's Rise.

Amu and Tenebris, with Mel's own undead aid, stop the umber hulks from taking over the 12th Seal, just in time, for Birdman had already left, joined with and inside the tarrasque, his raiment of the innards assisting him with this bond, like he, donning a new jerkin or robe. Once inside, he travels within the flesh and bones of the beast, for some time, before he finds his way to its brain. Joining synaptically with it, he is able to hear its voice for the first time. High-pitched and ignorant, naive and hungry. Birdman thus tries to convince it to rise, to fully break free of its bounds. However, its memory is faded, his connections lost from any past understanding. He sees through its eyes, feels its thoughts, understands its loss, his memory (lack thereof), its innosence as a being of force, rather than actual mortality. He can control it in a way, and when it rises, its innate connection to Barur and earth connect: no one can fly within one mile of him.

They much search for Vear, and Roomane. Birdman leaves the creature to its devices, directing it to consume more umber hulks, hopefully filling it up long enough for their search. Two binds remain, only two. Like some enormous kitten, the Tarrasque plays with its food.

Mel helps them scry for the 8th House Binder Lord, Vear, knowing they must head north, to the forests, but not knowing how far exactly he is ahead.

Therefore they head out of the city, leaving the beast awake, chained by hand and foot, yes, but still awake, as they head north, to the Moustelin Forests, but hopefully not too far north away from the tethered beast. Amu and Tenebris trade shape changining information, and Tenebris begins to identify remaining items.
