Session 88: Animaesus and Tarrasques: Kaly Watches the Crumbling From Above and Below
General Summary
The Tower of the 9th House, wrought from glass, has burst, and from it, a beast arose. Killian and his father Hybearn, who controls Kral the ancient wolf primordial, are teh first to engage with this ghostly monstrosity, something between undeath and sorcery-created.
Yet, soon, Faurwiin and his sons Maeglor and Maehdros come in next, astride Kaeros, Faurwiin ancient and magical Roc. With their magic, their aid, they keep the phasmotarrasque--it must be--from fully engulfing and consuming Killian, destroying Kral.
Down below, the Undercity rages, and Kaly Frier, a daughter of the 9th House, finds her way down; she was informed by Pio of the 10th House, her patron, of the engagments below here, and how one of her sisters recently made her way down here. She soon locks eyes with Mel across the way, across the sewers' waters. Mel is breaking away from Amu, after his morality check, and now she knows something about this Kaly. She does not trust her, but soon Karen comes behind. She knows her half sister, and overcome with emotion, she runs to Kaly and she hugs her. Kaly accepts this, and Karen reinforces how her sister needs to join the group down here, to see this for herself, for Pio of the 10th House, for the end of the 9th House leadership.
A voice yells from within, and the carnage of the Nulls of the 12th House, the Beetles of the 3rd House, and the Ratuess of Aleplu of the 4th House dies down. The ratuees has yelled out, and he wishes to parlay, to find common ground with Mel and her undead.
As Tenebris joins the combat with Faurwiin and Killian, his simulacra join also, and with all three of the magic swords, the cantrips and shadow blades to attach the psychosis of this ghostly beast, Kral bites many times, and Killian dances with this moon cleaver, severing chunks of the ectoplasm and essence of this creature. Kral gets most of the focus for the beast, but thankfully his bites lower the creatures defenses, for Kral's magic hails from a time ancient and even more ghostly. Thankfully, Faurwiin's sons are able to keep the beast distracted with Killian and even stun it a few times, and while Faurwiin concentrates on the power of the earth, the power to keep this beast from flying to him, this ghostly monstrosity faulters.
They meet, Mel, Amu, Birdman, Kaly, and this Aleplu, a ratuess. However, no plan is reached, and he sets a volley, one easily seen by the group, and they are able to engage and waylay the skirmishers, these ratuess, these brazen thugs and rogues. Thus, from down below, Amu takes a gamble, and he uses the water within the muck and blood of these sewers of the City of Salt to create a dire Tsunami, one that tears through the ranks of the ratuess, and even the tunnels above and below these sewers. Kaly releases a fireball within the tsunami, and many of the 3rd house, fall or escape, and the ratuess fall like ash.
Above, Faurwiin flies in closer, and with his sons stun, Killian escapes being fully engulfed by the creature, its necrotic essence already searing into his flesh. Yet, Tenebris and his simulacra engage, magics furthering their damage, and even Goc of the 6th House soon engages, and with his magical blades spinning, slicing, they are able to fully get the upper hand over the beast, this ghostly apparation, gargantuan and wild, terrorizing and deadly.
Kaly sees the Tsunami, and the terror it brings, and she adds more. She summons a ritual of great power, one to reverse the gravity of the area in front of them, forcing the water, the sewage, the ratuess, their bodies, Birdman, and the escaping leaders of the 3rd House to fly up in the air, being trapped above in tunnels, nooks, crannies, plumbing, and stone. This allows for the others to regroup, for Birdman to get to and grapple Aleplu, and then warn him one more time of his arrogance, his need for violence; this enrages the Raiment of the Innards that now adorns Birdman, and it lashes out, consuming the ratuess leg in one giant tentactle full. With this, Mel retreats with her nulls, going to other dark places under the City of Salt.
Back up above, the shadow blades of the Gravitas Lords drum and slice about the beast like thunder, and even Faurwiin dives down into the fray, his Red Sun ready for blood, for death. They fell the beast, with Tenebris delivering the final blows.
Tenebris quickly leaves, his dragons coming to help him escape, and Faurwiin congratulates Hybearn and Killian and the assist, with no mention of the moustelin, Goc. He flies away also, speaking to his sons about the inevitablity of releasing the weight the 11th Word of Power, and finally, they can return home, to lands far, far away, lands ready for Syth vengeance. When the beast rises, new ages with start, mayhaps continue. On the new Dawn, Faurwiin will release his word of power.
The gravity returns, and with that, many fall, but still Amu tsunami rages through the under city, now spilling above the city streets. They let it continue, and they leave, but they talk with Kaly on the way out, and Kaly offers aid to find Mel, to continue this destruction of the 13 Seals of Power. The binderlords are the difficulty, and the control of this beast release. Will they allow the control, or will the hope they hold onto their own control, only to be deceived by the beasts true intentions: to rise, to walk, to destroy and then to remake. Amu states it cleary: there is no more time for parlay with this binderlords.
They find Karen upstairs, and she is ready to leave, for she has found her other sister Karin, and the clerics she sought, but now they are slain. The brawl tonight has claimed many. Karen disappears, and the others go their separate ways, for now. The seals and their release need attending to, and quickly.
