Session 64: Animaesus and Tarrasque: Stagecourts' Fall Ceilings and Walls, the Dark Pumthera, and the 10th Opportunity

General Summary

Below the depths of the stagecourts, dust filling the prison cells below, darkness overwhelming, Mealladh Apéthanta descends unphased. She climbs and breaks through fall rubble, mud, stone, and brick, and finds herself immediately greeted by three small animaesus to rescue, but they are also greeted by a disoriented drow guard, still garbed for war, and with valiant insignia hinting to loyalty to a House Mel now commands. Without hestitation, the drow darts forward, dark shortsword, gleaming with poison ready to attack. Mel draws her double-bladed short sword, and she after a few cuts back and forth between her and the drow fells the dark sylvan. She moves on, and finds other prisoners still alive, mostly the smaller kin, and an aves leads them out, avoiding more crashes from the ceilings above.
Above, in the stagcourts proper, they have stabilized most of the audience hall despite  large part of the tower from above protruding from its center chairs. However, even with wall falling from behind, Birdman , Faurwiin of House Niboné , and Killian Cainius  drive further down, looking for survivors and opportunities for life.
Birdman uses his speed and intimate knowledge of the City of Salt, as well as being a former employee of the Stagecourts, to locate weaknesses and surivors for others, mostly Killian, to assist in their escapes. He finds, downa  hallway to the servants quarters, a goblin that gives him some blueberry pie. Not being very strong, Birdman leaves the goblin for Killian to rescue later.

Killian focuses on the lives at stake, and he uses his giant mass to his advantage, widening passages, and he holds up archways for survivors to escape. However, the dust from the falling building is soon taking his compatriots and survivors, so he grabs who he can, stuffing them in the magical bag of holding, getting them out as soon as he can. Yet, he is able to embolden himself with his procured catalysts stims, and he gathers all those who are able to survive the falling debri and its smothering dust.
Faurwiin uses his telekinesis and keen insight to strength the passageways he can for their escape and retrieval, but he is also first to notice the falling actions of the buildings, and how the build up of the ruins falling as well as its dust, that it will eventual take them all. They must leave.
Amu is back and Pio's, well Squarmy's, and he and the other victims whom survived some crazed mage's fireball reel, and they prepare a plan. Amu has those who can run to the basement, the ancient root of the still surviving tree, some child of Gul. Nevertheless, before he sets down the stairs, a fog of deathly poison he sets outside to those who have joined this crazed Mage. They have a bear, archers, two mutant wolves, and then the associate, some insectoid kin, of this mage. The cloud offers enough distraction for Pio's squamata brute and other putori warriors to stop them from following below. Only Pio and Amu are able to leave; the others fight on, but the mage has plenty more spells to incinerate what is left of Squarmy's.
Tenebris finds himself soon surrounded, but he is still disguised as a pumther acolyte, and he as a few more tricks to help him stay hidden, well invisible. Falling away from their sight, he taunts them all, the throng of the Macinifex followers, those who worship the Great Black Spot. Yet, there dozens of lutrin bandits about, celebrating some feast, with Macinifex himself and some honored guests, squamata, melin, and musteli compatriots, yet also those Tenebris recognizes as prisoners from the 11th House when Orcafor was in control. However, even running about and avoid weapon slashing and piercing, arrows flying, and grenades exploding, eventually, Tenebris is overwhelmed, for his pride got the better of him. He is surrouned, and a small trochil catalyst is able to paralyze him long enough for other squamata followers and lynxin loyalists of Macinifex to knock the disguised elf. Then they debate for his existence, and Tenebris speaks to his master Faurwiin's mind, asking for help.

As the final moves are made, as Pio and Amu get away, as Tenebris asks for aid from Faurwiin, as Killian rescues those who remain under the stagecourt ruins, as Birdman finds speed, fear and blueberry pie, as Faurwiin finds aid with Amras and his Lord Gravitas, his similacrum, to teleport and aid the young Tenebris, as Amu gets Pio the 10th House Lord away from the city--a rumble retorts after the earthquake. And, indeed, most would hear it as nothing more than that earthen echo, a rumble from below. It was in fact much more, and Birdman, Faurwiin, and Killian sense it first. A beast is awoken, something that has slept for who knows how long.
They escape above, and they fight run for their lives, they run away for sanctuary from the City. Yet, the beast awakes, and explodes from the same hole as the fallen stage courts, for it was sleeping their the whole time, and it has broken through some bloody womb, some pimple, for the grip of the claw is softened and malleable like rubber, but the intent and roar is intent.
Killian howls and runs forward to engage, to save his city once again today. Birdman checks his arrows, remembers the last monstrosity that he and Stryke felled weeks past, smaller than this one it would seem, and he knocks a few arrows to be ready. Amu and Pio just feel the ground shake some more, not knowing the beast rises, another beast rises. Faurwiin, he has a few spells left, so he readies his sunblade, and he finds his spell book still chiming with arcane power.

Meanwhile, Tenebris has fallen, surrounded, a Lynxin monk beginning to bind him. Yet Lord Gravitas appears as but of thin air, he taunts and warns the Macinifex of the claims and shortsighted actions, of how they know who they must truly face to win. He then teleports Tenebris and himself back to the 11th House.
