Session 63: A Kraken Fooled: Scallywags and Greycoasts

General Summary

Hanging off of the side of the Pursuer, the Faces' war ship, Chatulkik takes quick aim and ends the persuit of one inquisitor of the Faces' of the King, and then he joins the others aboard. Ilknar, Mila, Valia, Gyc, Dosgratin have taken this human ship, and Mila now as acting captain gets the new helm, Ilknar, to sail the ship north, past wreckage of others already downed in these battles versus vessel and monster. They are able to find full cover behind the Bloom's shape, and turn their boat around, against he wind at first, in order to sail back south and rejoin The Call.

The Faces Fleet regroups while the Dwarven Fleet seemingly distracts the Brackish fleet from even moving futher south. With Captain Brimstone, Aikhon, Teyos, Firi, and Peanut below the depths, taking a magical depth charge in hopes of destroying the kraken in one fell swoop (Bag of holding inside another bag of holding), Roland and Nethpione are forced to improvise, and Roland gets the powder crew ready to launch powder kegs over to the faces ship, and take out ship and crew hopefully all together, but Flotsam from the Scion lands, an orcish tinkerer, demolitions expert and inventor launches her self with the first keg, and she reeks her own havoc aboard the vessel, soon to belost amongst that bombing and chaos while her sister Auna reigns down more gunpowder kegs onto the deck of the Faces' war galleon.
THe War Galleon seemingly charges forward over the sea, and nine figures dive into the water, sailing next to and in front of the war galleon with supernatural speed, charging themselves toward the Call, landing aboard it before it reaches their vessel.

However, Roland is able to activate the hovering capabilites and jump to the vessel with speed, but not before it can get a marked shot on the Call's sails with two canons, while six others are defended by the Call's abjuration magic that was applied by Mila but days before. Roland then lands the vessle atop some of the nine magical marines, slaying three in one sea smash. Roland then gives the found rod to Deoy to attack the King's Fliers with, to distract and hopefully cajole them to abandon their need to fight.

Beneath the depths, Teyos, Aikhon, Peanut, Firi, and Brimstone approach the shrouded in ink Kraken. It speaks to them telepathically of how they should leave, and how Aikhon's promise of the fleet is not what he said; their cannons are strong. They must work together, they must.
Secretly, Teyos is trying to get closer to the Kraken, to plant the magical depth charge, the bag of holding bomb.

Back near the battle between the Dwarven trio and the Brackish fleet, Valia swims to the one of the dwarf vessels and gets those dwarves to launch her and G back to the Horizon's Call. The land close enough, but as Roland is maneuvering the Call one last time to be right next to Faces' war galleon. Thus, Valia must swim a bit more to fully engage, and so must G fly closer.

Five of the surviving nine magical divers get to the deck of the call, and the wreak havoc upon the crew with magic of wind and lightning.

Back below the depths, the Kraken promises Aikhon and presumably the others a position under him, for him to be their patron, and for them to gather the powers of the primordial beasts and leviathans from the ancient oceans of Barur. They all seemingly decline, and Aikhon gets ready to dive to the Kraken, but Firi moves forward, and the Kraken claims for her that she chose to join him, to become his warlock. However, Teyos does not agree with this, and she charges at the Kraken, and it inks around it again, hiding in the darkness that only it can perceive through and understand. They all try to engage, but the Kraken grabs them with tentacles and flings the away, and soon as the captain engages, he is able to take opportunity with the reckless and flailing swimmers, and he swallows Brimstone in one gulp.

However, during all of this, Ntenti was given the bags, and he slowly, quickly and quietly approaches the eye of the sea monstrosity, and he is able to merge the bags together. A portal opens, and it sucks the homunculus, and the Kraken, and almost Brimstone too, if not for his divine protection from Tritherion, who flung him to the water's service with powers from the Weave.

BACK aboard the Call, the Faces' Inquisitors, odd marine humans imbued with aquan magics, rise aboard the main deck, and they summon a powerful grouping of four magical maelstroms, taking up the front half of the ship. The Crew of the Call, in the sails and on the deck, readying the cannons and themselves since they cannot move anymore, the sails ripped already by Long Lance cannons.

The Zile prisoners, the Powder Crew of the Call, and the frost giant companions take the brunt of the flailing magical winds and waters, both beating and rocking them and the boat. However, the powder crew barely survives a few feet, the zile are brought to an untimely demise, and the frost giants, pelting and tired, attack the casters with full force, giant axes raised high. However, these marines fire back with frost and wind, focusing on the crew, as their leader, a woman who dons a large black captains hat, tears through the crew still standing, focusing on the what is left of the powder crew.
Horizon, however, the medusa befriended back in the Scions tomb, is able to defend against one entirely, petrifying it on the deck, allowing Scepsi, Kevdae, Auna, and soon Nar and Tsara to reinforce the crew, taking down another caster, but soon they realize this is only because Auna was able to geta  sleep arrow on the leader, the woman with scimitar and dagger, poised and deadly.
Duprois, Zenkara, and Ganoi fire with dagges and magic from inside the call for cover.
Nar is also able to blow another one off the deck, but still the Maelstrom rages on, tearing at the hull and sails of the Call. And soon, the War Galleon of the Faces comes within range, and a boarding party comes to the back end of the main deck of the Call, all while steam bullets pelt down to the helm, to West, Nethpione, and near Roland, and acid arrows fired by some other keen enemy kill two of the three frost giants.

Yet, the lady is awoken, shaken by her compatriot, one of the remaining casters before he falls, and she tears through the others, Scourn, Noodles' battle mech, but Noodles, Kevdae, and Horizon, with the aid of the crew distract her, and they work to take out another caster. Furthermore, Auna is an adept healer, fire arrows again, to heal the fallen powder crew, and to engage with this lady from afar, once again brining her to sleep.
Yet still, the maelstrom rages, and still one Inquisitor stands, and another petrified, and the lady is asleep, for now.
However, this new boarding party, lead by the archer with acid arrows, did not expect Nethpione's cold magic to overwhelm them, but they soon surround her, and West looks to Roland: "I got the wheel: help her!"
