Session 29: Hours before The Scion Fort: Scallywags
General Summary
It is late night, on the 16th of Fall Feather 698, and the crew of the Call reels from the combat with orc pirates and the Sea of Scions. Firstly, the crew and their new orc captives gather in a large throng on the surface deck of the Horizon's Call. The Crew, E'krae , and many new members, including the dragonborn refugees, seem to think that the orc crews and ships are too much of a burden. Discussion of the death, their abandonment, and their eventual tugging into port are discussed. They eventually agree to let the crew stay, and Auna does heal the wounded. Once transferred back their ships, and the captain left unconscious on a rowboat from the Call, Skiff joins the orc crews for a game of Grindstone Hold'em.
Meanwhile, Aikhon and Brimstone discuss their future ploys, and Ilknar visits with Torth and Teyos about their visions for the future, about Ilknar's kingship being tied to the fallen start that the entire Grey Coasts is up in arms about.
Finally, around midnight, Nethpione is awakes, and she stumbles on the main deck to be met by Ilknar and Teyos. Her eyes are bright white like a storm, and she speaks only in strange arcane words. Once Ilknar is able to get her out of her stupor, she tells him of a vision of the storm, of the fallen star, and her in this storm flying above the star's bright presence in the ground.
They go to bed, but early in the morning, about 2 or so, Rognur attempts to meet with Auna to discuss the presence of her seeming Catalyst technology.
The next day, Rognur meets with Auna on deck, and he finds that she knows his wife Ugalla, and that she helped save Auna's sister's life years ago. Ugalla is now a senator of sorts to many villages in the Scion Empire.
Finally, the group begins its course into the Port of the Scions, the Scion Fort . It is a city almost into itself, and it is the only access to the orc empire. Here, finally Barrelrider meets with Aikhon, and being disguised as crew of the Call, they will gain access to the city of the Jesharaum, and they warn the dragonborn to avoid the central tower.
