Session 18: Scallywags of the Greycoasts: Preparing for the Forceful Departure from Feon

General Summary

Lost Recording....

It is 11 am, on the 15th of Light, and the Crew are out and about the city of Feon, where they are making last minute preparations before they set sail for future ventures south east of here, in the lands of the Scions. Skiff, Rognur, and Aikhon head to the willow wench, and along the way, skiff buys 40 more buckshot for Queen Bess. Rognur assists with the trade of the troll blood from the Trollhold of Southern Feon , gaining a recipe for syntehsizing the troll blood into an alchemical healing potion. Aikhon trades for more acid alchemic shot. He then meets with his contact for a bag of holding, selling guns at both transactions, and he also finds a good smith to alter his hand crossbow for magical affects made from shark people and trolls.

Rognur also finds from the Willow Wench some mountain lichen from Claddenrow, a common foodstuff from the area. This is ancient, forgotten by the standards of the crew now. The lichen might be used in some draft or elixir, too old for other purposes. Rognur takes it gratefully, and these officers of the Call head for the departure.

Upon arriving at the Docks of Ne, they find over a half dozen people, not crew, attempting to discuss with Captain Brimstone about taking abode upon the Call. Four former Guards of New--Argos, Dardanos, Kolos, and Helene--wait for Skiff to accept them into the crew. Four dragonborn--gold, green, white and blue--also get escorted onto the Call's guest quarters by Captain Brimstone. Skiff heartily agrees, gaining a new powder crew in the process. Additionally, barrels carried by two thugs, Jim and Jack, and lead by the now-named 'Barrelrider', and androgynous human character working (whispered to Aikkhon), for the Men in Black; they search for new business partners, and they are curious to the gossip around the Call and the dragons who command it. Aikhon agrees for a bag of gems (1000gp gems: 3 100g, 30 10gp, 16 25 gp), and under the pretense/perhaps truth of a crate of barrels, ale from the Animaesus lands, yet the bard assumes there are other thing smuggled within the barrels.

Tours begin, and plans are laid for departure, and among such, Aikhon takes Kevdae, Deoy and Rognur into his room to discuss his newly gained Iron Flask from the trollhold, pixies, and hags. Not fully understanding the weight of his choices, of saying that Deoy and Kevdae will sneak into a Knight of Ne garrison, barracks, or keep, and release the demon from within the flask--Aikhon soon finds himself at odds with Rognur, who launches an cold dart to shut the mouth of Yip Yip before his mouth leads the young Grung and Kevdae down a irrevocable path. This commotion causes Skiff, who is leading his new powder crew around the ship with Roland and E'krae, to hear this and come to threaten his own involvement with a dumbfounding plan: release a demon into Feon. This engages the crew against each other, with Roland following quickly behind Skiff, disarming Aikhon of the flask, and throwing it out the porthole of the dragonborn's room. Skiff dives after it soonthereafter, with Deoy attempting to follow in tow, but he gets stuck in the porthole for a whole too long. Rognur runs around to the deck, and the hobgoblin climbs near the waters edge to eventually bring aboard after his quick dive after the flask. The kobold gunner, Skiff, agrees to let Rognur hide the flask away, not wanting to release the demon to innocents. Roland and Aikhon grapple, and soon Pojin, Nethpione join to interrogate the commotion.
Skiff comes back to Aikhon's room afterwards to pilfer a unique item from the dragonborn, taking a wanted poster for a river plantation in northern King's lands: five silver, two goats or sheep for information on his whereabouts. Failing a feat of sleight of hand, Skiff is able to convince Aikhon to let him have it. Later on this day, Skiff attempts to forge it, and on his fifth attempt, he finds success.

The ship begins to set sail at this stage, with Rognur in the workshop, Pojin, Skiff, Roland, and Dosgratin beginning a keg of ale in the officer's mess. However, their anchor refuses to rise, and the crew is addressed on the deck from noble and adorned representatives of the Knights of Ne on the docks. Their herald gets the Captain, Aikhon and Skiff to meet with their lord on the docks, and the lord's assistance meets with them closely; they are soon informed that the Knights will only release the crew of the never return to the ship, otherwise they will take the Call as payment, arrest the crew, and send them in rowboats alone on the seas. Confused and reluctant, but the crew still eager to sail again, they agree. They now cannot return to the ports of Ne, but maybe still to the Dwarven ports in Western Feon.

There is one more idea to attend to, and Aikhon leads the crew to where they have stowed this orc hunter ship near Feon. They elect Thej, Ganoi, Weebs, and Neroon to man it, and the armada begins, as Aikhon describes.
With this, they set sail officially, and within two to three hours they are well on their way out of the reach of the Chronoloc Isles, and onto the regions of the Scions. During these hours there is joy and drinking, food and clear skies.  Nonetheless, with the extra perspective and manipulation of water and strategical layout, the groups is able locate an incoming vessel, battle worthy to be sure.
