Session 117: Scallywags: Grit, Militia, and Loss

General Summary

Wulfgar waits for a hours for the tattoo upon the king's brow to be finished. During that time, he thinks of the past, of his brother, his faith. He then leaves the city, and he is able to find a trail of a snake lady. He even hears rumors of a theif about. Arriving at the main tower, he is able to convince the guards that he is indeed the healer and servant of the Lady Sasha, but he is also a powerful cleric that can help them find the theif. They agree, the guards, eager to have an end to this chaos, and to close the gates. The rumors of the fall of the tsunami which protects the city are clear, and the rumors of kobold and other draconic pirates create fear. Wulfgar is lead up the towers and stairs of the capital building of South Ireef, and there he sends magical messages to Lady Sasha, trying to glean a location and purpose. 

Lady Sasha, much earlier, has already made her way to odd, ominous stairs. She rises to them, and knocks the knocker a few times. After a while, the knockers spits out its ring, and speaks with concern and interest at the Lady's Arrival. She is late, and the queen's shipment is ready. The guards let her by, but they need her weaponry, so Lady Sasha takes this time to allow Master Orran, whom she saw sneak with her eyes of truest sight behind her and into the shadows, and with her distraction, Orran is not only able to sneak Lady Sasha's hammer into his bag of holding, but he is also able to follow behind the Lady, despite a guard staying behind with torch in hand. They are lead up the stairs, and are greeted from across a new hall, one adorned with chains and strange alchemic apparatti, those joined and filtering, feeding and drugging, corpses. Well, constructs, more like. Golems. She is lead beyond this room, after simple greetings. Ioomore seems eager to relinquish this shipment. At, least, the money is good, but some of his followers are more wary of Sasha's ploy. Thus, she is followed to the laboratory proper, and she finds the chamber filled with odd tools and cylinders for clone or growth of some sort. In the back, she soon notices a familiar gnome: Pojin, the owner of the Call, the former Captain and current cooper and carpenter of the ship, the father of Mila, and Citizen of South Ireef. Why he is here, Sasha does not know, but she must get him out of here. He is unconscious, and he is in a dire state. 
She attempts to create a distraction, and thus allow, both Orran to enter the room as her 'servant' and for her to get armed. This seems unlikely, but a ploy works, and she has Orran enter the room, grab Pojin, misty step with him away, and then use the mist trail thereafter to summon a thick fog cloud to hide their escape. Sasha gets to work, but she is hit by magical dragon breath and disintegration spells, and thus, she focuses more on the machinery of Ioomore's creations. She starts a chain reaction. IN that, she takes the box that was part of the queen's shipment, one that Orran left, so he could escape with Pojin, and she smashes it, too. 

Mila and Ilknar, with Nethpione, have engaged with flesh golems around the eastern quarters of the city. They slay a few, over the bridges, and they notice more will press onward, relentless in the hunt for dominance. They see the town already littered with blood, and Mila calls for the other two to gather around her. They teleport, to home, to the Topsy Turvy, the arena itself. The Second Floor Sand. The dryest in the city. However, they are soon set on by a dwarf named Ruthgar, and Maavel a human warrior. Yet, Francine is here, and she recognizes at least Mila. The other two stand in amazement. There is a wall of meat around them, of wrestlers and warriors. Mila says it first? Why are you here, cowards? Why are you not out engaged in the city? This enrages them, and a dozen plus set to attack Ilknar, Nethpione, and even Mila. However, they intimidate and stop, refocus the aggression. It works. A march, a quasi militia is formed. They have lost much, much indeed. Now they must rise with their own grit against this oppressive leadership, Master Ioomore. Ilknar takes Ruthgar under his arm, and the charge is lead to the capital building. 
They find one resistance group along the way, a handful of flesh golems, but the magic of Ilknar's thunderous strikes helps them through. Mila's booming bop, and Nethpione's firebolt ensure final ends, and the group moves on. A larger beast at the main gates waits for them, but over two dozen warriors and Ilknar's thunderous axe with Nethpione's fire and Mila's magic, it is quic work. 
Wulfgar has been left in a room to wait, after charming his way into aid the guards in looking for a theif. They lock him into a safe room, but with its balcony, he is able to the see the search for the theif, and how soon it is thwarted by the arrival of a giant and his militia, mages, too. With this, Wulfgar releases a signal, and Nethpione comes to teleport him away, by use of her own wind and thunder. Wulfgar then huddles with Ilknar, Mila, and Nethpione. He informs them of Lady Sasha gone, and he starts to prepare as scrying spell to find her, but he needs them to watch over his casting. This allows for Ilknar and Nethpione, Mila'a magic too, to continue with abandon.
