The Wolves are Back
General Summary
Excerpt from Seir’s Little Black Book (Session 1/11/22): Penned in Borokin’s hand, via dictation
The man Thoradin saw wasn’t familiar. Tall, dark, balding, hunched over and shrouded in a dark cloak. Thoradin asks him his business, and he yells about the wolves chasing him. He saw more than a dozen wolves looking at him in the darkness, and the man was moving pretty slowly. Thoradin went out to help him, and the rest of us got into position to help him. As Letho ran outside, the armor he put on came alive (what a surprise), and tried to make him stand still and attack himself. Khaylen shoved him back into the mage tower, and the armor calmed down. Zin discovered upon shooting at the wolves that they seemed to be affected by non-silvered weapons, making them either non-werewolves or very good actors. The injured man was stumbling and not getting out of the way of the wolves, so I healed him and tried to encourage him along. But he didn’t really seem to move. Like he was trying to draw us out, hmm? The wolves all run up to mob us. I manage to get a good hit on one of them with a silvered dagger as it passed me (I’m pretty sure that was the first time I ever managed to kill a creature with a melee weapon). The wolves seem to allot themselves such that one to three are attacking each of us. The man reveals that he is a bad actor, and tries to trip Zin. Zin managed to find a werewolf while punching some of the wolves. Khaylen also tried to cast some magic on the ones near me, but they seemed to be strong enough to be completely unaffected (concerning!). The combat seems to be going poorly- Zin gets downed and we start retreating towards the tower, which we hope we can use as a choke point. Khaylen also gets downed and it’s all a clusterfuck of people having to run around and pick people up and dodge snapping wolves. We end up with Letho outside, trapped inside the animated armor and blocked from the door by a bunch of wolves. The man offers to let us surrender. TODO: Discuss terms of surrender Summon the dragon and have it incinerate the wolves
