Mysterious Visitors
All stories have a beginning. Unlike most however this one has two. The first of which involves three adventurers and close friends. Yort, a genius Dwarf who specializes in creating machines, Vicyeras, a talented young half-elf with an affection for books and an affinity for spells and Trix, a mischevious shapeshifter capable of taking the forms of people as well as animals.
The trio were sent on a quest by the dutchess of Daggerford, Lady Morwen to remove some caravaneers that had parked outside the city and had been harassing the locals. Upon investigating they met with people who called themselves the Vistani. Their leader was a man named Stanimir and he told them of their home, the Land of Barovia and how their arrival was prophesied by a woman named Madam Eva.
The party decided to humor the strange people and travel with their Caravan to this land they have never heard of and see for themselves who this madam Eva was. Unfortunately their fate would take a cruel twist as they were abandoned by their escorts and awoke alone, surrounded by mists and accompanied only by feral growling of wolves.

However before we can continue onto that part we must first intorduce the rest of our heroes. Here we turn to a reluctant alliance between Larold, a goblin from the Shadowfell along with Curuth, a dragonborn raised under the moonlight of Selûne. The two of them found themselves on a similar quest: remove the werewolves from the Misty Forest and cleanse the area of their evil.
Seeking some respite before the carnage they were expecting to endure they stopped at The Way Inn. A place to sleep and eat on the road heading north to Daggerford. However, the two of them had their meal interupted by a colorfully dressed man with a strange accent. This man delivered a letter and requested the two of them head into Misty Forest and help his master save the love of their life who was afflicted with an unspeakable evil. Without even introducing himself, the man bought drinks for all the patrons, and then departed.
The pair decided to put the evening's strange events on the back burner and proceed with their current plans: exterminating the werewolves. They followed the directions the locals had given them to their wereabouts. There they instead found a pack of ravenous wolves
