Hecata

The brief history of Clan Hecata is one of necessity as first principle. Once several disparate Clans and bloodlines, the Hecata came together out of a need to survive. The 21st Century did not dawn prosperous for many of their number. The Second Inquisitionhit Clan Giovanni extremely hard, almost completely driving them out of North America. The Cappadocians were already very few in number, thanks to the predations of the Giovanni, and the Nagaraja suffered under an unknown catastrophe, greatly reducing their already low numbers. The Giovanni, Cappadocians, Lamia, Samedi, and Nagaraja decided to come together, the entire vast, twisted family tree that had sprung from the merged history of Giovanni and Cappadocious. They all agreed to come together, at an event known as the Family Reunion. A ritual was performed, merging all of these groups into one Clan, Clan Hecta. Each branch assumed the Clan Bane of the Giovanni, but managed to maintain the uniqueness that made them, them. This gives the Hecata a surprisingly cosmopolitan and adaptable demeanor, and they have used this new status quo to creep back into the Western world, returning to North America under a new guise. The Hecata are an enigma in the modern nights, owning allegiance to no one but themselves, eschewing both the Camarilla and the Anarchs, or working with both, depending on the situation. No one knows their true long-term goals, but one thing can be certain: there are few who would openly cross the necromancers from the Clan of Death.

Hecata in Baltimore

The Hecata are newcomers to Baltimore, only moving into the city in the late 2010's, with the construction of the Horseshoe Casino. Paulo Giovanni funded the building, and was placed in charge of Hecata operations within the city. They spent much of their early years in Baltimore warring with the Gangrel for living space in South Baltimore. But everything changed when the Second Inquisition arrived in Baltimore. Paulo Giovanni was once an Inquisitor himself, but in the First Inqusition. And he had been preparing for just such a calamity for years. He created a safezone when the Inquistion was scouring the city for Kindred, and was well rewarded for his service. Tonight, Paulo seems more loyal to Queen Eleanor than to the Hecata, something which brings him derision from his underlings.
