Bradfordshire

The barony of Bradfordshire in eastern Talanthia. It sits at the estuary of the river Brad encompasses a number of miles inland through fertile farmland before giving way to the interior river baronies. Bradfordshire also, until the fall of Bradford, held the seat of government for the entire kingdom, and as such was one of the wealthiest regions of the country. After the fall of Bradford, the local towns squabbled over who should take over the seat of the barony, while also attempting to repel incursions from neighboring baronies who saw a chance to take wealthy, fertile farmland for themselves.

Structure

Even after the formation of the kingdom of Talanthia, there continued to be a separate baron of Bradfordshire, which existed as an appointed position subservient to the king, but whose duty was the day-to-day operation of the barony so that the king could focus on his national duties.
