New God

"Their children turned against them and each other, and committed acts of great evil in ways they could not fathom. Filled with immense sadness and realizing their mistake, the old gods fled from humanity, and mankind was overcome with shame, and their hearts hardened with the guilt of their abandonment.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Unlike the old gods, new gods share physiological traits with humans, though often also harboring otherwordly adaptions that set them apart from mankind. Some speculate that they are kin to the old world's giants, who were the old gods' first attempts at creation before humans were formed. Much like giants, they are larger than humans, some reaching heights of 15 feet. Some, like the new god Ruuben, share characteristics of their parent gods, or perhaps characteristics of their natural habitats.

Genetics and Reproduction

It is unknown whether or not new gods are capable of human reproduction. While there are many differing opinions on the legends involving god/human sexual relations, Ruuben is a prime example for the new gods being fully capable of growing and birthing humans after successful intercourse. Mogortha, an old god of legend, was also told to have shared sexual relations with one of her followers, but the stories do not make mention of any pregnancies. It is widely accepted that new gods can determine their abilities at any given time, meaning: if they desired to become pregnant, they very well could.

Growth Rate & Stages

New gods do not show growth or maturation in any way besides small, physiological changes. Ruuben, who was depicted and described as being hairless during her first interaction with King Illsmore, has grown her hair throughout Umelan's reign. They do not show signs of any aging process, and they also do not show signs of previous growth leading to their current maturation.

Dietary Needs and Habits

While it is apparent that they do not need nutrients like other living creatures, most new gods are equipped with the evolutionary necessities to acquire such, including teeth, tongues, and other digestive organs. It seems that, even without their need or desire for sustenance, they still enjoy food and can grow affinities for fats, sugars, and salts, perhaps concluding further their similarities to human neurology.

Additional Information

Average Intelligence

Equipped with heightened levels of consciousness, and being created presumably to guide humanity back to the old gods, new gods are capable of retaining greater amounts of information than humans. They are able to memorize and digest information in large quantities without the need for sleep, but are known to still forget mundane facts off and on. This has been the main issue between new gods and mankind, most people finding it redundant to worship imperfect beings that are no better than themselves. New gods, while still undoubtedly more powerful than man, are still widely weakened by their susceptibility to emotional disturbances, something the old gods were not particularly known for despite their own vices. It is arguable that mankind has simply forgotten what the old gods were like, unable to see beyond whatever their current and primary antagonist happens to be.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

New gods, as their title and name would suggest, are seemingly omniscient and omnipotent. While it was first assumed that they operated the same as humans pertaining to levels of consciousness, new gods are capable of seeing without direct sight, hearing without ears, and speaking without apparent use of a mouth. It is apparent that their capacity for heightened levels of consciousness is greater than those of humans, even those achieved during sleep, meditation, hypnosis, and psychoactive drugs. This is rarely attributed to their kinship to old world giants, considering that giants were created with vastly smaller and less complex brains.

Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms

Discuss their relationship with humans. (Be aware of any gender bias) Explain the extremely thin line drawn between their correlations to humanity in consideration for toxic symbiosis.

Civilization and Culture

Relationship Ideals

Discuss social and interpersonal facets most new gods have. Remember their position and their obvious inclination toward a lack of self and identity. Discuss new gods that worked around this by other means. Think about old gods and how they might have treated the new gods to create any psychological imprinting.

History

(Decide if Ruuben was first or not.) Make mention of other new gods, midgods, and their kin, and how they are not seen as wholly new gods. Some light explanation for old gods' leave.
Genetic Ancestor(s)
Lifespan
Immortal, but can be killed if severely wounded.
Conservation Status
After the recent suicide of the old god Sha-nrah, people have been reminded of their mortality and thus taken measures to limit Hexers, who were the predominant cause of Sha-nrah's death. They are still hated by the masses for the plight of the accursed.
