Ayamo

Arching over the Velbani River is an ancient bridge. Originally the site of traffic from the southern half of the plateau, over time the bridge became a settlement for the traders and fishermen of the region. Now, after 200 years, an entire town exists on the bridge itself. This has become the site of commerce and metropolitian life in Badiseta, where visitors and residents can delight in a variety of foods, entertainment, and cultures.   Ayamo is very literally a town built on the structure of the bridge. The first homes were attached to the original structure, with more added to the framework and the first level of homes over time. The bridge is now akin to a hive of humanity, with many of the surface cells attached to each other using loose walkways and rope bridges. The structures on the deck of the bridge have been reserved for businesses, which include shops, warehouses and inns. The space above is where residential homes are found, though fishermen tend to live on the bridge's piles, closer to the water.   Though Ayamo sees a lot of trade in the detritus of the old worlds, none of the priesthood resides here. This is a result of the decision made 250 years ago, when the Trades Council declared that priests posed a danger to the citizenry, expelling the few priests to a life of itinerancy until a church was established in the nearby village of Saler Thaer. This results in Ayamo's ability to freely traffic in artifacts without reporting them to the priesthood. This has resulted in an open market of the items, of which the priests of Saler Thaer take advantage of.
