Laiya is a native of Ayamo, despite having spent her young adulthood traveling across Badiseta. The connections and friendships made during this time have served her in her stewardship of the town. She often serves as a mediator for trade disputes due to her knowing many of the foreign traders personally. She is a practical woman, which also makes her the go-to individual for citizens who need help.
She is always accompanied by a large mechanical bee-like creature, which seems to speak to her in a language no one understands. She obtained this cypher in her youth and what little mechanical expertise she has is solely to repair it.
She has antipathy towards Aeon Priests, though she will not say why. Speculation circles around her youth and her months in Saler Thaer, where she was denied admittance to the chapel. Many believe this started a grudge that has continued to this day.
