Personal history
The only child of Léonel and Martina Steele, Jessica expressed an interest in archery from a very early age and began to practice archery when she was about 7 in addition to dance and martial arts.
In late 2002/early 2003, Jessica was on her way home from archery practice when she saw some guy harassing a girl. Without thinking, she took her bow off her body and used it to fire a pinecone at the guy, telling him to leave the girl alone. The man did leave the girl alone, only to try and attack Jessica. She continued to fend him off with pinecones and her bow until the girl was able to escape. When the girl asked Jessica's name she just replied "Steele".
The next morning, there was an article in Breakthrough on "A woman of steel, fending off an attacker." Turns out that girl was the sister of the editor of Breakthrough, who ran his sister's story in his magazine. After that, Jessica decided to become a force for good in the city of Oakbridge, acting as a superhero known as Steel Sparrow.
In June 2003, Steel Sparrow was joined on the scene by another hero, a superpowered young man named Jackieboy Man.
