The first forges are constructed in Ironhold, and the gnomes begin to smelt the iron ore they have been mining. The quality of the iron is exceptional, and soon Ironhold becomes known throughout the region as a center of metalworking.

The construction of the first forges in Ironhold marked a turning point in the settlement's history. With the discovery of the rich iron ore vein by the Cogweavers and the arrival of other gnomes to the area, it was only a matter of time before the Cogweavers began to explore the possibilities of smelting the ore. The construction of these first forges was a laborious process, requiring the hard work and dedication of the Cogweavers and their fellow gnomes. The initial forges were crude, but they allowed the gnomes to start producing iron on a large scale.   The iron ore mined in the nearby mountains was of exceptional quality, and the gnomes quickly learned to smelt it in a way that produced metal of unparalleled purity and strength. This new source of high-quality iron quickly drew the attention of traders and artisans from neighboring settlements. Soon, Ironhold became known throughout the region as a center of metalworking, and its iron became a highly sought-after commodity.   As more and more forges were constructed and the gnomes' metalworking skills improved, Ironhold began to thrive. Its population grew rapidly, and the town became a bustling center of trade and commerce. The gnomes' success in metalworking brought wealth and prosperity to Ironhold, but it also brought challenges. The town had to deal with issues of supply and demand, ensuring that the necessary raw materials were available to keep the forges running and that the finished products were transported to markets near and far.   Despite these challenges, the success of the gnomes in metalworking laid the foundation for Ironhold's future growth and prosperity. In the years to come, the town would continue to expand its production capabilities, producing not only iron, but also steel, bronze, and other metals. Its metalworking skills would be renowned throughout the land, and its products would be highly valued by traders, artisans, and warriors alike.
