On Quaag night, in the middle of the Short Winter, the frost giant Quaag is said to visit homes, leaving behind warm Quaag buns - delicious spiced buns, freshly baked and dripping with honey. These are eaten on the morning of midwinter's day, filling cold bellies with warm deliciousness.
