The Ovis Tribe Hostages

The party arrive at the Ovis Tribe village and discover that a number of the tribes members have been kidnapped! Including the blacksmith who was working on Uriel's apparatus.   The kidnappers are a bandit group who have made their base in a fortified location a few hours away from the village.


After discovering that the blacksmith they need to talk to has been kidnapped, the party move to help the tribe. After arriving at the bandits hideout three of them go in with the intention of negotiating their release for a far lower price than the bandits are demanding. Zolv resolves the issue using magic to influence the bandit leaders decision, instead convincing him to release the prisoners to them now, and that Zolv and the others will return the following day with their payment; Liath.   After retrieving the prisoners and escorting them back to their tribe, the party and the tribe prepare for a conflict when the bandits realise that they have been swindled. As part of this, Ophelia sends a message to Uriel (Animal Messenger Spell) and the next morning Uriel appears in the village.
Uriel promises his support, but suggests that the best defence is a good offence, and provides the party a crate of Alchemist's Fire. A tool which the party later uses to set fire to the majority of the bandits base.   Their fire-bombing raid did not go so smoothly however. Their plans to retreat fell through and they ended up embroiled in a brutal and deadly combat encounter, where they witnessed the death of other people for the first time, some of them directly causing those deaths. (Trauma that the characters would have to resolve later)   After killing a significant number of bandits, a large number of them choosing to flee the party and their base, the party returns victorious to the Ovis tribe, who reward them and celebrate their victory with a feast and a celebration.   Aries Ovis works tirelessly through the night to finish Uriel's apparatus. Once it is completed, the party return home, only to be ambushed by Adran (the bandit leader) and his winter wolf. After a short but brutal battle, the party emerge victorious once again, but with more mental trauma to show for it.
