Exarch
Exarchs are beings of extraordinary power, and are also known as champions of the gods they serve. Such beings are granted supernatural abilities from their masters.
Exarchs are often called demigods, but are not gods - as in demigod - of demipower status, or heroes despite the name. Many are ascended mortal servants of greater gods, brough up from the world to serve as agents of their divine masters. Many, but not all, attract worshipers of their own, and they have some ability to grant spells.
Amongst the hierarchies that serve a god, exarchs sit at the top, just under the deity, and all other divine servitors under them.
A Chosen is not the same as an exarch, though it is possible for a Chosen to ascend to the rank of exarch.
An exarch can be any Chosen, Demigod, Saint, archangel or being of power that pledges their service to a particular deity. The exarch may or may not gain additional powers from this relationship, as they are normally of considerable power already to earn the position.
Exarchs are not bound to live in the same plane of existence wih their patron.
