Chaos swirled and clashed forming the canvas that became know as Azis. It also gave rise to the first artists, The Divine. They experimented and played with the paints of reality until their creations usurped them. Those gods are forgotten but faith is power. So lesser gods are empowered, local gods rise from the terrain, some mortals are elevated to saint hood whilst other's seek to unlock a path to deification.
