Bay of Shipwrecks

The Bay of Shipwrecks is a large bay of the Parthenian Sea located to the southwest of Parthenia. In the Fourth Age, it was the site of the Battle of the Bay of Shipwrecks.

Description

The bay is a large area of the Parthenian Sea located to the southwest of Parthenia. It is bordered to the north and east by the Black Mountains of Parthenia. The main river of southern Parthenia that forms the Iron Marshes flows out into this bay.   There are a number of atolls, sandbars, and shoals throughout the bay, many of which are visible in the shallows. The wreckage and hulls of many sunken vessels can be seen among the bay. Some parts of the vessels even just above the water, though the number of them is dwindling as the Fifth Age progresses.   The sunken vessels from the Battle of the Bay of Shipwrecks is the origin of the name of the bay. Before this battle, it was known only as the Parthenian Bay.

History

The Third Age: The Age of Zenethia
During the Great War, the continent of Gimora was sundered and split, and parts of it were sent into the ocean, including Parthenia. It is believed that the bay was created at this time alongside the rest of the Parthenian Sea.
The Fourth Age: The Age of Shadow
During the Manslayer War, the Battle of the Bay of Shipwrecks took place here in late Drimon 4A 996, between the forces of Passaro the Manslayer against the Gimoran Alliance and the Zenethian Heroes. Many ships were sunk during that battle, giving the bay its name.
