Greetings

Throughout the archipelago, one might come across different types of greetings and gestures whose meanings are foreign.

If one finds oneself in the Isle of Root, one would say “good morning”, “good afternoon”, “good evening”, and “good night”. But when in the Elven Realm, all those greetings turn plural. The wizards are even stranger, as they prefer nights over days; their usual greeting is “serene night” and at sunrise they wish for a “resting day”. In the Isle of Months, due to its remoteness, greetings are still exchanged as in the old days, and some gestures were preserved, such as sending a kiss with two fingers, a sign of loyalty towards the person in the receiver’s end.

Moon Knights also have their own code of greetings and gestures. For instance, they greet each other by hitting the right palm over their chest and greet a superior by hitting the right fist instead.
In the Isle of Months, Holy Moon Knights maintain an informal way of treating each other, no matter the hierarchy, the only exception being the Commander.

There are, in spite of cultural disparities, a general greeting used in all nineteen islands to send someone on their way. This greeting varies according to the affinity of the sender.
If one is gifted with a power related to Nature, they shall wish someone “may your body hold strong”. However, if they’re gifted with a Mind power, they shall leave, saying “may your sense lead you to the truth”. If one is a rare person who’s chosen by the God of Death, they shall end the encounter with “may your soul purify your way”.
The one who holds more power, either magical or social, shall say the sentence last, meaning that one must be humble and admit to their lesser position by offering the greeting first.
