During the Third Era, early cultures came together to establish the known kingdoms of Ayrith.

The Creation of Eras

The decision to break history into eras was made by historians at the court of Algoma, centering their own history to create a world history. Eventually, other nations accepted the era system as it made it easier for them to both trade using a common calendar, and record their historical events in a way that others would easily understand.

Alternative Views

There are alternative ways of recording time and events, however, and some keep a common calendar as well as another in their traditional format.
