Wineberry Flower
The wineberry flower only grows on human remains, a deadly secret that Keizl was glad to use to his advantage when he put it on the flag of his crew, the Bonespite Clan.
Basic Information
Biological Traits
The lifespan of the wineberry flower depends on the food that sustains it. A good-sized human corpse could sustain several flowers, which could breed if pollinators are around, spreading the flower to other nearby human corpses.
Additional Information
Domestication
Keizl has managed to domesticate the wineberry flower. He has a macabre assistant who goes out and finds corpses no one wants, as well as brings them up from the dungeons of Keizl's headquarters. Keizl himself takes great care to portion out a body so that each flower has enough to grow on. He transplants each flower himself, though the daily tasks of the greenhouse he leaves to his assistant.
Uses, Products & Exploitation
The wineberry flower is sought after by poisoners despite its rarity and the fact that it only grows on human remains. A single drop in a glass of wine is enough to kill a full-grown human man. It tastes exactly like wine. Keizl has it on his Bonespite Clan Flag. The flag was hand stitched by his favorite mistress in 1853, not long after the Bonespite Clan was formed. It is made out of heavy silk and dyed with rare, vibrant bloodblossom flowers. Keizl wanted to use the skull and crossbones of his people but his mistress convinced him to use the wineberry flower because of its secret deadly power.
