Jarl Dagmar Snorri Kennasson
Snorri has been the jarl of the northern town of Dagmarskiir, which is part of the Demesne of Ice. He has been on the throne for 43 years, since his mother Kenna died of old age in 1442 2A. The Dagmar family has been on the throne of this town for over 1200 years, by far the longest tenure of any monarchy in the Demesne and one of the longest in the world.

Snorri was born the fourth child of the long-reigned Jarl Dagmar Kenna, in 1381 2A. The older three siblings were all women, and Kenna chose to marry them off to other families instead of giving them a chance to succeed her. Many speculate Kenna harbored misogynist views, despite the fact that she is a woman in a position of leadership. By chance, the fifth and last child was also female and seemingly was never considered as a successor.
From birth, Snorri was given the best tutors - both Giant and humanoid - to help prepare him to take over his mother's throne. Once he completed his studies to his mother's satisfaction, around age 45, he began to shadow his mother and learn the ways of ruling the town and cooperating with the other jarls.
Unofficially, Snorri was selected as successor as soon as he was born, but his mother officially declared it when Snorri was 50 - having completed his schooling and shadowed his mother for five years. 11 years later, Kenna's health began to fail, and Snorri prepared to take over whenever she passed. In the late autumn of that year, Kenna passed peacefully in her sleep after battling a mild sickness for a few days. Snorri was coronated two weeks later, after the funeral and grieving period for Kenna.
Snorri spent so much time in his early life trying to live up to his mother's expectations and high standards that he was not married when he was coronated as jarl. His courting life and romantic entanglements have been a hot topic of rumor around the nobility of his town and Giants further across the Demesne. Snorri is somewhat paranoid that any potential mates may be using him for his money and power, and accompanied by his social anxiety from being isolated and shut-in most of his life, he has had trouble finding a wife. His most recent relationship has lasted for three years, and many believe this may be the woman who he will eventually marry.
Despite his long education and apprenticeship period, Snorri initially struggled for the first few years of his jarldom. He did not have quite as strong a personality as his mother, and the other jarls took advantage of this to somewhat browbeat him into following their wishes. Eventually, Snorri came into his own and is now a deeply respected jarl amongst the Thing.
