The Free Brawler's League

"I don't know what's been going on with that no good husband of mine. He disappears into the night without a word and comes back early in the morning with bruises and cuts. He won't talk to me about it...Probably off drinking again. Oh well. At least he's in a better mood."
— Gossip around town

A clandestine organization known only in swiftly hushed circles, The Free Brawler's League is home to those seeking to simply devolve back into animals and have a nice, often unclean, fight. The legality of the league is subjective depending on the area they're in. The more lawful the society, the less allowed the organization is, ranging from guards shutting down and arresting those involved with harsh prison sentences to a look of disdain and a warning to disband or be 'dealt with'. While a plausible answer is to host the events in lawless settlements, these places generally have bigger issues to deal with and are more prone to someone being outright murdered rather than to obey the laws of the guild.   Indeed, despite being a bastion of primal release, there are a surprising amount of rules, and because of the level of devotion carried by its members, these laws are strongly upheld and enforced.   It's the last rule, the rule of 'If it's your first night, you have to fight' that keeps away plenty of the rabble intent on simply viewing it as a means to gamble. While there are friendly bets made within the ring, it's among fellow fighters who understand and revere the ordeal, more focused on gambling as a means to entertain rather than to grow wealth. There are no spectators in the Free Brawler's League, young, old, man and woman must fight, at least once, if they intend to be a member.   Out of a desire to keep the law guessing, as well as to cater to the masses, the league hosts fights in different locations at different times. Their stomping grounds include Dar Boldar, Lerndon, Rondorholt and others.

Structure

To Join

Unsurprisingly, it is very difficult to locate the Brawler's League, let alone to join. Because of their strict rule set and intense respect for said rules, many do not talk about the organization and things like flyers or notices posted on bulletin boards simply do not exist. Mostly the only means of recruitment is word of mouth, and this is just a case of being in the right place at the right time. Fighting out in the open is a good way to be noticed, especially since these members are generally on the lookout for a good throw down. Otherwise it's just a matter of luck.

Remaining Structure

There is very little remaining structure in the league. There is a leader, but really he's just the one who knows the rules and is willing to state them out loud, as well as to pick two participants (Usually at random) to fight. Otherwise everyone else is just a fighter, plain and simple.

Public Agenda

To provide a (relatively) safe outlet to channel one's desire to fight with like minded individuals.

No Shirt. No Shoes. No Weapons.

The Rules:   1. You do not talk about the Brawler's League. We get enough attention from the guards as it is. Keep it to yourself.   2. You do -not- talk about the Brawler's League. No. Seriously. You want to get thrown in prison or kicked out? Can't stress this enough, fellas.   3. No weapons - Anything that's not your hands and feet? Don't use them. You have more arms and legs than two? You only get to use two so pick which ones you're gonna use.   4. If he's tapping out or knocked out cold, leave him be. He fought a good fight.   5. Only two people in the ring. Only one fight at a time.   6. Respect the other guy. Even if you hate him, you're here to fight, not quarrel like sissies.   7. If it's your first night here, you gotta fight.
