Week 1- Love

Week 2- Growth

Assignment- Choose your area of focus

I would like to focus on fleshing out the history of the world, to reference historical events more accurately and have a better understanding of the factors that have shaped the peoples of this world and their traditions.

Hopscotch- Make a list of concepts you would like to explore

Week 3- Loss

Assignment- Planning your time

I aim to write a paragraph a day, but if I'm busy, I will try to do at least a sentence, set up an article, or jot down bullet points of what I plan to write. To help me stay on track, I'll use writing sprint timers to break down tasks to be more manageable and keep the procrastination demon happy!

Hopscotch- What's your typical creative process or routine?

Routine? Typical? These words are quite foreign to me. Often, unintentionally, I will get inspired when listening to music or scrolling on Pinterest, especially about character arcs and personality traits of our novel characters, or random plot points. Quite often, I'll write a totally irrelevant scene, to join the plethora of others, to be put in place when we FINALLY actually write up the novel consecutively. Unless of course, the executive functioning demon says no, at which point the source of the inspiration is saved to a board or playlist to be mostly forgotten about until I encounter it again.

Week 4- Family

Assignment- What's your goal as a world builder?

I am world builder to flesh out the world where our novel will be set (or rather, to document my random thoughts about it). I am hoping the Summer Camp will give me some external motivation, and with intentional themes and dedicated area of focus, a format I can engage with, and stay on track.
